We already reported about the filmmaker Omid Mirnour and his short film "Corruption on Earth". And also with his new project Omid stays on the topic of Iran "RAP4AZADI" (Persian/Kurdish for "Rap for Freedom") is the name of the film campaign in which various rappers slip into the skin of imprisoned Iranians and which Omid directed.
The rappers Xatar, Savas, Peter Fox, Celo & Abdi, Justina, Takt32, Sugar MMFK & Jalil bring in the Viodeo interrogation-like statements of the arrested Iranians, in between video clips of the Iranian protest movement are shown. Among them are also the rappers Toomaj Salehi, Saman Yasin and Behrad Alikenari:
No sign of life has been heard from Toomaj for a long time; according to sources, he is being severely tortured. Nevertheless, he continues to rap his dissident lyrics from his cell.
Saman Yasin has attempted suicide in prison and is currently on hunger strike.
Behrad Alikenari was sentenced to 25 years in prison for his dissident songs.
